This superb guide to retirement in Spain, focuses as much on quality of life and how to get the most out of your new leisure time as it does on the nitty gritty of making the move.

It covers the usual ground of choosing the right location, finding and buying a new home, the nuts and bolts of daily life, sorting out your personal finance, tax and pensions along with arranging healthcare and health insurance.

Where it differs from other make the move books though is that, with retirement the goal, it concerns itself with ensuring that your retirement is fulfilling and active.

The often-tricky area of meeting and making new friends is dealt with very well and covers the options of joining clubs from bridge to drama or volunteering and part-time work. It also looks at the increased options in Spain for active sports including fishing, golf and walking.
